The Center is located a short walk from the dock in Ewell on Smith Island. The island may be accessed only by boat. Boats depart from the following locations:
- Crisfield MD dock daily at 12:30 p.m.: Captain Otis Tyler (410-968-1118), Captain Terry Laird (410-425-5931)
- Tawes Museum, Crisfield (tickets purchased at the Paddle Wheel Motel in Crisfield): Captain Alan Tyler (410-968-2220);
