About Havre de Grace Maritime Museum

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum is dedicated to telling the story of the rich maritime heritage and history of the Susquehanna River and Chesapeake Bay by collecting, documenting, and preserving the material culture and oral histories of this region. This land has seen generations of people living along the water and utilizing its resources from the prehistoric Native peoples, to the earliest European settlers and the thriving population of today’s community. All of these lifeways are connected to the Bay and the Museum’s exhibits and programs reflect this intrinsic link. The Museum strives to educate the public that al areas - humans, plants, animals, organisms -need to be strong in order foe the Bay to be healthy.
