About Annapolis Maritime Museum
The Annapolis Maritime Museum is dedicated to preserving and commemorating the maritime heritage of Annapolis and the neighboring waters of the Chesapeake Bay. It is this heritage, linking us to the water, which makes this place unique.
The recently renovated McNasby Oyster Company building, the last remaining oyster-packing plant in Annapolis, houses an exhibition gallery that features rotating exhibits celebrating the area's unique maritime heritage. Maritime concerts, seminars, and community events are held in the new assembly hall and the adjacent waterfront park. Museum piers provide Bay access for crabbing and fishing, and a small beach is a great place to launch your own canoe or kayak for a self-guided tour. Tours by boat are also available of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse in June, July and August. For schedules, see the Museum web site.

The Annapolis Maritime Museum focuses its exhibits on the cultural and maritime history of Annapolis, but it’s also a hub of community activity. They put on free concerts every Thursday evening at the museum’s waterfront park. It is definitely a place that’s worth checking out.

Annapolis Maritime Museum is a gem of a museum in the heart of Eastport - a fun little community across from downtown Annapolis. I took a tour of the Thomas Point Lighthouse from the Museum and it was a life experience - not to be missed.
