About Susquehanna State Park
Set along the Susquehanna valley, with its heavy forests and massive rock outcrops, Susquehanna State Park conveys the magnitude of the river that feeds the Chesapeake Bay. The park has many historic structures tied to the river, including the water-powered Rock Run Mill built around 1794, the restored Jersey Toll House - a passing point for early valley settlers, and a restored 1804 mansion which overlooks the mill. The Jersey Toll House now serves as an information center for the park. The river offers excellent fishing opportunities, including pike, perch, and bass for shoreline anglers or boating anglers who launch from the Lapidum Boat Ramp. Other outdoor activities, such as camping or cross-country skiiing, make the park a year-round destination.
